A showcase of some of the work done during my time in 4D design.
Walking Through Transitions
This project was done as a showcase of After Effects transitions. Through this I learned how to operate and create my own transitions, as well as integrating my workflow with Premier Pro with After Effects. I wanted to show what I might be doing on a regular afternoon so I decided that the video should simply be me walking around Virginia Tech Campus.
Moving With Fire
This is another After Effects project that utilizes the displacement map feature. I wanted to use movement from something like fire and decided that a word to match it well would be “Shogunate.” The shogunate was an old form of samurai government throughout Japanese history.
Sun Showers
This video was created as an exercise on using masking in After Effects. I wanted to create a similar vibe to that of a sun shower through the window.
Ambience
This project is showing the use of track mattes in After Effects. I found a video of forest photography and though that spatial and ambient music would go well with it.
Rotoscoping
Last but not least, we have rotoscoping.
Rotoscoping is drawing over a series of images and putting them together to make an animation. This particular animation is a horse bucking. Each frame was traced and cleaned by hand, and the background was also made by me.
